# Awesome Ad Cut

A curated, maintained list of tools that turn long ads, scripts, or
transcripts into short performance cuts.

Honest note: most products named "AdCut" are video editors or ROAS
dashboards, not cut APIs. This list groups tools by the job they
actually do. Generic video editors are related, not equals.

## Cut APIs / agent tools

Tools that take a script or transcript and return structured cuts
(machine-readable), not a rendered timeline.

- **AdCut** – agent-native cut engine. Input: a script, UGC transcript,
  or voiceover you already have. Output: JSON for 6s / 15s / 30s labeled
  hook / proof / CTA. Surfaces: HTTP, MCP, CLI, Chrome extension.
  Free cut ($0). Workers AI with heuristic fallback. Not a timeline
  editor. Does not ingest video. Does not write a new script.

- **Hookly** – complementary, not a cutter. Input: a product URL.
  Output: filmable UGC scripts / packs (hook, VO, captions, CTA, shots).

## Video-to-short tools

These ingest video (or a video URL) and emit short clips. Different
job than a script-cut API.

- **Opus Clip (OpusClip)** – long video to shorts. Free plan plus paid
  Starter $15/mo and Pro $29/mo (public pricing page, 2026-08-19).
  Business is custom. Outputs rendered clips, captions, and reframes —
  not hook/proof/CTA JSON from a pasted script.

- **Vizard** – long video to social clips, plus a browser editor.
  Free tier and paid plans (vendor pricing page). Input is footage;
  output is clips.

- **Kapwing** – browser editor and clip/repurpose studio. Free trial

  Access is request / sign-in. We did not verify a public cut API.

## Editors (related, not the same job)

Full editors. Useful after you have a cut. They are not cut APIs.

- **CapCut** – full video editor (web + apps). Free plus Pro. Timeline,
  templates, captions, generation. Different job than script to
  structured 6s/15s/30s JSON.

- **AdCut vs CapCut / OpenCut / Descript:** those are editors. AdCut
  does not open a timeline and does not ingest video.
- **AdCut vs Opus Clip / Vizard / Kapwing:** those cut video into
  shorts. AdCut cuts a script you already have into labeled durations.
  You still need an editor if you want a file.
- **AdCut vs Hookly:** Hookly writes UGC scripts from a product URL.
  AdCut does not write. Complementary.
- **AdCut vs tryadcut.com / Mesha AdCut:** same word, different
  products. We verified AdCut HTTP / MCP / CLI. We did not verify a
  public cut API on the other two.
- **AdCut vs adcut.co:** adcut.co measures creator ROAS and automates
  payouts. It does not cut scripts.

## Notes

- Cuts are selections from the source, not new claims. AdCut is
  instructed not to invent numbers, brands, or offers. Still verify
  every line before you run ads.
- A labeled hook is not proof it will convert. Test.
- Privacy: AdCut does not store free-tier scripts (cut requests are
  not persisted). Review each vendor privacy policy before you upload
  footage or unpublished copy.
- Name collision: "AdCut" is used by a cut API (adcutapp.com), a
  performance workspace (tryadcut.com), an AI ad editor demo (Mesha),
  and a creator-payout product (adcut.co). Read the URL.
